MWTA Annoucements

As of November 5, CPE certificates were issued to participants for the MWTA Annual Conference held on October 22.    If you didn't receive your email, please reach out to Kathy Castillo at mwtacpe@gmail.com  

The Michigan Women's Tax Foundation was established to offer scholarships to students pursuing a career in Taxation.     See the new application under the Foundation web pages.   Note:  the completed applications are due by September 30, 2020.    EXTENDED to October 15, 2020.

In recognition and concern for the safety and security of our members and their guests, the board of directors has made the decision that we will defer in-person events at the current time.   Our golf outing will be rescheduled to occur in the summer of 2021.     We are working to configure our annual conference into a virtual event, while retaining the opportunity to achieve CPE and engage in some networking.

Despite a rainy afternoon, the 2nd Annual Golf Outing is in the books.  We had 17 people who braved the rain and made the best of it.  We had 32 people come out for Happy Hour and a delicious dinner. A good time was had by all.

In first place was the team of Austin Richards and Marc Hildenbrand of Grant Millman & Johnson who each claimed a cash prize.

Emily Uppleger of UHY Advisors won the $50 prize for Longest Drive sponsored by PNC Bank.

A $50 cash door prize was won by Marc Hildenbrand sponsored by Cathy E. Lambert CPA, PLLC

And a $50 dining gift certificate from UHY Advisors was won by Dawn Atkins from PayChex

Our Annual Fundraiser - Wine, Women and Wishes was a Huge Success!

This was a sold out event and we raised over $4,000 for our scholarship fund.  A special thank you to Trevarrow's for allowing us to use the venue and DKSS for the partnership in putting together this great event.
